The Carneys Point and Logan Generating Plants hosted their VPP celebrations on March 9, 2018. Both facilities achieved VPP Star certifications in 2017. Logan Generating Plant achieved their VPP Star recertification on November 17, 2017. Logan’s original acceptance was March 27, 2009 and their first recertification was January 18, 2013.

Carneys Point Generating submitted their application February 2012 and was the 22nd applicant on OSHA’s backlog list. On December 18, 2017, the facility was approved as a VPP Star participant.

On March 9, 2018, both facilities hosted ceremonies to dedicate and celebrate these achievements. Logan provided breakfast for all in attendance prior to the dedication ceremony. Carneys Point held their dedication ceremony later that morning. Their ceremony included presentation by OSHA of the VPP flag. Following the dedication, lunch was provided for all employees and guests.

There were over 50 attendees for each of the events. The General Manager of Carneys Point and Logan Generating Plants, Mike Salvador, presided over both ceremonies along with Sr. Safety Specialists, Buzz Ryder and Rebecca Early. Guests included: Paula Dixon-Roderick (Area Director OSHA), David Jackson (Safety Director, NAES), Dean Blaha (VP Operations East, NAES), Jeff Delgado (Senior Vice President – Starwood Energy), Kevin O’Brien Treasurer, VPPPA Region II), the Honorable Kenneth Brown, Mayor of Carneys Point Township, Jared Rollins, representing the Honorable Frank Minor, Mayor of Logan Township, along with several representatives from PurEnergy and NAES Corporation.
